District 11-D2 Hearing Aid Program

Richard A Roose, Chairman

I would like to take this opportunity to explain a couple of changes that have been made to the District Hearing Aid program this year.

First, due to the increased time that Beltone Hearing Center has to spend with the patients that we the Lions send to them, the cost of the office call and testing has been increased to $250.00. This increase is still a reduced cost over their regular price.

Second, I have made a change to the consent form which you will fill out when you have a person who needs a hearing aid, the top half you fill out and send with the person, they need to take it with them to the Beltone at their scheduled appointment, which will need to be set by your club or the patient, the bottom half you send to me or Lion Chuck with a check to cover the cost of the office call and testing, your check is made out to the District 11-D2 Hearing Restricted fund not to Beltone, this change will help us keep better track of the number people we help with hearing aids.

As always the district will continue to pay for the recycled hearing aids we purchase from R&L labs, in the ear for $89.00ea or behind the ear for $79.00ea providing we have recycled material to build them the material is generated by the hearing aids we send to R&L labs, if the material runs low or out the cost can be as high as $129.00ea, so if your club has received hearing aids from someone in your community please forward them to me so I can send them in. These changes are simple and should in no way change the way we help those in need.

We also have opportunities for hearing aids if for some reason your club cannot help financially, we can send those patients to Lions Of Michigan Hearing Center at no cost, if you have a candidate for hearing aids this way please contact me and I will relay all the information and forms to you and your club. I would also ask that you share this information with all of the members in your club so that we can let the public know that we help with hearing aids. Thank You.
